Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic Attorney Carter Brooks Templeton was elected President of the National Law School Veterans Clinic Consortium (NLSVCC) during the organization’s annual meeting in Florida this month.
The NLSVCC is a collaborative effort led by the nation’s law school legal clinics that is dedicated to addressing the unique legal needs of U.S. military veterans. The Consortium works with like-minded stakeholders to support and advance common interests with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Congress, state and local veterans service organizations, court systems, educators, and other relevant entities for the benefit of veterans throughout the country.
Templeton succeeds to the presidency after years of involvement in veterans advocacy, clinical legal education, and national collaboration on issues affecting veterans and their families. As President, he will help lead the Consortium’s efforts to strengthen partnerships among law school clinics and expand access to legal services for veterans nationwide.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role and for the confidence my colleagues have placed in me,” Templeton said. “The Consortium’s member clinics are doing extraordinary work across the country, and I look forward to building on that work, strengthening our partnerships, and advancing our shared mission of serving veterans.”

Templeton assumed the presidency at the conclusion of the Consortium’s annual meeting and will lead the organization as it continues its work to improve legal services and advocacy for veterans throughout the United States.
