The Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic recently presented Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) and Citigroup (Citi) with the prestigious Bob Bailey Award, recognizing their uncommon zealous advocacy on behalf of veterans. The award honors individuals and organizations that go above and beyond in serving those who have served our nation.
BCLP and Citi both have strong legacies of pro bono work to help underserved populations. Most recently, the firm and Citi teamed up with the Veterans Clinic on an initiative to assist veterans with discharge upgrades—a critical mission that can greatly affect employment opportunities, access to benefits, and overall quality of life.
Prior to the start of the partnership, Clinic representatives visited Citi’s offices in O’Fallon, Missouri, to train volunteers from both Citi and BCLP. Additional training sessions are planned to expand volunteer involvement.
“BCLP and Citi have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our veterans,” said Brent Filbert, Director of the Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic. “Their partnership has expanded our reach and impact, allowing us to serve more veterans across Missouri. The Bob Bailey Award is our way of recognizing their outstanding dedication and advocacy.”
By honoring BCLP and Citi with the Bob Bailey Award, the Veterans Clinic celebrates not only a strong partnership but also a shared commitment to ensuring veterans receive the benefits, recognition, and dignity they deserve.
Since its inception in 2014, the Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic has secured more than $20 million in federal disability compensation for veterans and helped achieve numerous successful discharge upgrades. The Clinic’s mission extends beyond casework—it trains lawyers, paralegals, and community members to be effective advocates for veterans across Missouri.
