The Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic is proud to welcome Hannah Eastland as its newest staff attorney. Hannah joins the Clinic as the Ben and Carolyn Thomas Fellow, where she leads the Clinic’s rural outreach program. In this role, she will ensure that veterans in even the most remote parts of Missouri have access to the benefits they’ve earned through their service.
A proud alumna of Mizzou Law, Hannah brings an exceptional academic and professional background to her work. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law and a B.S. in Legal Studies and Political Science, along with A.A. degrees in Russian Studies, Intelligence Studies and Technology, and Social Work. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Before beginning her legal career, Hannah served for nine years in the U.S. Air Force as a Russian Linguist. As a veteran herself, she is able to “speak the language” of the clients she serves. She is deeply committed to translating veterans’ military experiences into terms that preserve their meaning and impact throughout the often complex and bureaucratic claims process.
“When I transitioned out of Active Duty, I was fortunate to have mentors guide me through the VA Disability process, yet it still felt isolating. Veterans often face loss of identity, feel their service is not fully represented, or struggle with guilt when seeking benefits. The Veterans Clinic provides a vital, humanizing advocate in this process, and I am honored to join the team as the Clinic’s Thomas Fellow and newest Staff Attorney.”
Hannah lives in Mid-Missouri with her husband, Brandon, and their three children—Serenity, Emerald, and Noah. Together, they enjoy camping and exploring the outdoors.
With Hannah’s leadership, the Veterans Clinic will expand its outreach to rural communities by building on its mission to ensure that every veteran across Missouri has access to the advocacy and benefits they deserve.
